A Grand Old Wellington House
During 2010 the new owners of Catacombs - a grand
old Wellington house with a very varied history - asked us to
help them turn it into an updated but traditional home for their
family.
The building had been moved for the development of the Wellington
motorway and was basically a shell.
The staircase was in pieces, there were no services and very
few wall linings. Only the outside had been painted before the
grand old dowager had been put on the market.
Our Senior Designer Philippa Whitaker drew up the plans, designed
the kitchen (above) and bathrooms, secured the consents, and worked
hand in hand with the owners to get the best value from the available
budget.
Catacombs is once again a much loved home which
stands out in its new location in the heart of Wellington.
